Merry Christmas!

OK, sorry it has been so long since I have posted. We have been so busy but I know many of you are just as busy, if not more so, than we are.

So, I got a job. That is one of the reason for not posting. I work from home as a copy-editor for a marketing firm in Draper, UT. Don't ask how I got the job, it is a long story. Anyway, I LOVE it! It pays pretty good and I can do it on my own time. It is stuff I love to do. Right now I am helping to edit a book on real estate and it is really interesting. It is just perfect for our situation right now.

OK, on to the Christmas report. This year, we spent Christmas with Eric's family... in MONTANA! It was so much fun! Eric's parents rented a house just outside of Yellowstone and we spent that last week snowmobiling through some of the prettiest country I have ever seen. We spent a whole day snowmobiling through Yellowstone. It was absolutely freezing, but a ton of fun. We saw a lot of buffalo and even a glimpse of a wolf. Back to the freezing part. When we woke up that morning, it was -9 degrees outside! It warmed up a little during the day but with the wind chill factor, it felt like -29 degrees! That isn't an exaggeration either. I have never felt that cold before. Wow, it was cold, but wonderfully beautiful.

Christmas day was so fun. Logan seemed pretty oblivious to it all though. He was more interested with throwing the presents down the stairs than with opening them. His Uncle Curtis ended up opening most of his presents for him. We spent the day just eating and napping and opening presents. We had so much fun. All of Eric's brothers and sister were there so we had a great time. Eric's big present this year was a 37" flat panel TV. He opened it before we left for Montana because we couldn't fit it in the car but he loved it all the same. I think his favorite part was setting it all up. He is so cute!

We just got back last night and are in serious recuperation mode. Our kitchen is a mess and we are all exhausted. Guess you can imagine what we are doing for New Year's Eve. Going to bed early! We are all partied out!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Let It Snow!

Well, we had a huge snowstorm last night so I took Logan out today and we played in the snow! He absolutely loved it! He had fun eating the snow and then laughing at me when I spit it out. I took him out for just a minute, not bundled up, just to show it to him. Then when I took him back inside, he threw a fit! So I bundled him up and took him outside. He mostly just crawled around. Then, I think his knees got cold and he crawled over to the door. He was ready to go in! It was super fun. Hope you all like the pictures.

what a mess

Maybe I was niave or I just never spent much time around little kids, but I did not know that a one year old boy could make such a mess within a matter of minutes. Seriously. I was on the phone with my mom and by the time I got off, Logan had pulled everthing out of my purse, emptied two cupboards and 3 drawers. He also pushed a chair around the kitchen. How does a little boy do that? Maybe has some super human power or something. Then I just had to get a picture of him in the middle of his completed work. He may be a little monkey but he is still dang cute. :)

Also, I wanted to add a picture of Logan playing on the rocking horse that his grandma Sharon got him for his birthday. He really loves it and has been known to put is teddy bear on it so he can have a ride too. It is pretty dang cute.

new look of the farmers

I just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to Kamry Waite for her super cute improvements to my blog! She is very gifted in a scrapbooky way (something I have never had the eye for)and was willing to share her talents with her uncreative sister-in-law. Thanks again Kamry!

Can I just say that I am SO excited for Thanksgiving! I guess last year that I was still caught up in the whole new mom thing that I didn't really take time to enjoy the holidays. But this year, I am totally into it! I started listening to Christmas music about two weeks ago and I have been fighting the urge to get a head start on shopping for about a month(waiting for the Chritmas sales and all). And to top it all off, It started snowing this evening! Our first snowfall of the year! To all my friends living in the Phoenix area, I am sorry that you don't really get to experience this. But then, I will be wishing that I lived in AZ come February and March when we are buried under a mountain of snow for the 5th month. :) Oh well. So tonight I am sipping hot chocolate and watching last week's Heroes episode (ok, it's not exactly "It's a Wonderful Life"), snuggled up with my husband and watching the snow fall. Tonight, I love my life. Now that is something to be thankful for.

So Logan is just overcoming a bout of teething and after being super grouchy for a couple weeks, he just woke up and was suddenly his happy self again! It is so nice to have my happy little boy back. Now he just smiles all the time and laughs at the funniest things. For example, yesterday I was doing a little yoga in our living room and apparently I looked pretty funny doing it, because Logan was cracking up. So he started laughing which made me start laughing and my yoga pretty much went out the window. :)

Besides keeping up with a super happy kid, my big project the last couple of days has been tamales. My friend Ann Marie and I have spent a couple of days cooking and assembling HUGE amounts of tamales. We learned how when a lady from the Spanish branch up here gave a demonstration at Women's Conference. The recipe yeilds about 7-8 dozen tamales and they can be frozen, so we figured we would do a full recipe each. Now I am think we were a little overzealous. Hopefully they will turn out ok, otherwise we will have a freezer full of terrible tamales. :) If they turn out good, all of our friends may be getting some for Christmas!

growing up

OK, I am still trying to figure out how to do this blogging thing. Kamry has promised to help me whenever I finally find the time to call her. :) So until then, please be patient with my mediocre attempts at blogging. Maybe someday mine will look cute and have all the cool links that all of yours do.

Anyway, we are doing great here in WA. Since my last post Logan has turned One Year Old! I can hardly believe how fast time flies. There are days when i just want to hold him tight so that he won't get any bigger or change at all. I just want him to stay exactly the way he is. But, as all of you moms out there know, time continues to fly. Logan has started walking this week. He toddles around and gets so excited and pleased with himself. He looks up at me with the biggest smile on his face and just throws his arms up in the air like there is now better feeling in the world than being able to walk on your own. It is the cutest thing I have seen him do yet. :) He has also started talking more (although nobody but Eric and I would really understand him). He says "Momma" and "Dadda," "Bear"and "peekaboo,"and our favorite,"Uh-Oh". He also points a lot. He knows where his belly button is and the light switches. I can't get over how adorable he is and how much I love being his mom. It is so amazing.
Also Logan was a turtle for Halloween and discovered that he is in love with Dum Dums(we can thank his grandma Terri for that one). He was so cute but didn't really enjoy the ward halloween party much because he was too tired. But he managed to get a little trick-or-treating in.

Well, Eric and I are doing well also. Nothing really interesting to report. I will try to better in the future at being more consistent here.

giving into peer pressure

Seeing as everyone seems to be starting up blogs, and my general nature as one to follow trends, we have joined the throngs of would-be editorialists and started a blog of our own. Besides, this seems like fun. And away we go.
